The Coastal Bend
Documented

Wildlife, landscapes, and local landmarks of the Texas Coastal Bend.

Sarah Wilhelm is a photographer based in Corpus Christi, documenting the Coastal Bend and the natural life that defines it—quietly, honestly, and over time.

My Approach

I spend most of my time outdoors, paying attention to the details that are easy to miss. Birds moving through shallow water. Shifting coastlines. Familiar places changing with the seasons.

My Why

This work is rooted in observation rather than show. While the Texas Coastal Bend is often seen through the lens of tourism, it’s also a region shaped by wildlife, migration, and fragile ecosystems.

My Goal

My goal is to document those layers—what lives here, how it moves, and why it matters—without staging or interruption. Everything here is photographed as it exists.

Birds of the Coastal Bend

Birds of the Coastal Bend is an ongoing wildlife photography project focused on the bird species that live in and pass through the Texas Coastal Bend. This project looks beyond beaches and postcards, highlighting the diversity and ecological importance of the region.

Portfolio

A collection of my favorite work featuring the coastal areas, landmarks, and the locals-wildlife and human.
