Texas Gulf Coast Photographer
Coastal Bend Storyteller

Hi, I’m Sarah — and if you’ve ever pulled over “just for the sky,” we’re probably the same kind of person.

I’m a Texas gulf coast photographer based in the Coastal Bend, and I’ve been coming to this coastline since I was a kid. Padre Island and Rockport were always the kind of places that felt like magic to me — not because they were perfect, but because they were alive. The wind never sits still, the light changes every five minutes, and there’s always something happening if you slow down enough to notice it.

These days, I’m lucky enough to call the Coastal Bend home… and I’m completely obsessed with documenting it the way it really is.

Not staged. Not over-polished.

Just real coastal life, real wildlife, real weather, and real moments.

My Photography Journey
(AKA: I’ve always been like this)

I’ve been photographing since high school, and honestly? I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t drawn to the details.

I’ve always been the person who notices the small stuff first — the texture of feathers, the way an animal’s eyes catch the light, the tiny patterns in sand, the way the wind changes the entire mood of a scene in seconds.

But as I’ve grown as a photographer, I’ve fallen hard for the bigger view too.

Landscapes. Wide angles. Dramatic skies. The kind of scenes that make you feel small in the best way. The Coastal Bend has a way of doing that — it reminds you that the world is bigger than whatever’s going on in your head, and sometimes you just need to stand there and let it hit you.

Photography became my way of documenting that feeling.
It’s peace. It’s storytelling. It’s passion.
And it’s my favorite way to be present.

The Coastal Bend Isn’t “Just a Beach”

One thing I’ll always stand on:
the Coastal Bend is not just a vacation backdrop.

It’s a living ecosystem. It’s biodiversity. It’s migration routes and nesting seasons and delicate habitats that don’t get enough credit. It’s towns with long memories, real culture, and stories that deserve to be told with respect.

And it’s not just beautiful — it’s worth protecting.

That’s why my brand is built around one message:

Respect the locals.

To me, that means leaving no trace, giving wildlife space, and caring about what happens here long after the photo is taken. It means appreciating the coast without treating it like it exists for us to take from.

The goal is to explore, document, and share… without doing harm.

What I Love Photography
(And Why It’s Always a Little Chaotic)

If you ever see me out with my camera, just know there’s a high chance I’m doing one of these things:

  • staring at the sky like it personally offended me

  • quietly watching a bird for way longer than a normal person would

  • chasing light like it’s a sport

  • pulling over because “WAIT… look at that”

  • getting way too excited over an “ordinary” moment that isn’t ordinary at all

I’m chaotic and excited by nature — but I’m also a patient watcher. I love the slow moments. The ones people overlook because they’re busy chasing the obvious shot.

Sometimes the story is in the storm clouds.
Sometimes it’s in the stillness.
Sometimes it’s in the tiny movement of a bird’s feathers when the wind shifts.

And I’m here for all of it.

A Little More About Me
(The Human Stuff)

Outside of photography, I’m a mom to three girls, married to a local firefighter, and I’m deeply rooted in the life of this area. My days are a mix of homeschooling, exploring, chasing birds and interesting views, editing with an energy drink in hand, and constantly thinking “okay but what if I turned this into a story?”

I also care a lot about conservation and local support — and I’m proud to back organizations like the Texas State Aquarium and the SeaLife Center, because protecting this place isn’t just something I talk about… it’s something I want to actively contribute to.

Ways to Work With Me / Support the Work

This brand is growing fast, and I’m building it with the goal of making an impact — not just posting pretty photos.

Here’s what I currently offer:

  • Prints + Digital Downloads

For anyone who wants to bring a little piece of the coast home.

  • Image Licensing

For publications, brands, and organizations looking for authentic Coastal Bend and Texas Gulf Coast imagery.

  • Local Assignments

Available for select photography assignments in the Coastal Bend area — especially projects rooted in place, story, and conservation.

If you have something in mind, I’d love to hear about it.

If You’re Here, You’re One of My People

If you’re someone who loves storms, sunsets, wildlife, quiet mornings, weird little coastal details, and the kind of places that feel real… welcome. I’m glad you found your way here.

This is me documenting the Coastal Bend as it is — dramatic, soft, wild, lived-in, and always changing.

And if you see me pulled over on the side of the road taking pictures of a cloud or a bird like it’s a historic event…

…no you didn’t. 😅

See you out there.
And remember: Respect the locals.
